Assessment Review Boards

Westlock County is actively recruiting qualified people to serve as members of its Assessment Review Boards.

 

Assessment Review Board members play an important role by hearing property assessment complaints and helping ensure matters are considered through a fair, impartial, and legislated process.

 

Local Assessment Review Boards (LARB) hear complaints related to residential property with three or fewer dwelling units, farmland, and certain tax notices other than property tax notices.

Composite Assessment Review Boards (CARB) hear complaints related to residential property with four or more dwelling units and non-residential property.

 

Applicants should have good judgment, strong listening and decision-making skills, and the ability to review information objectively. Successful applicants must complete mandatory training in accordance with provincial requirements before participating in hearings.
