Information Regarding Privacy Management Program

Under the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA), all public bodies in Alberta are required to establish and implement a comprehensive Privacy Management Program (PMP).

A Privacy Management Program (PMP) is a structured set of policies, procedures, and tools that is used to protect personal data, comply with privacy laws, and manage privacy risks. It is an approach that connects information governance with functional, technological, and operational areas and embeds privacy into all organizational activities to ensure that personal information is handled responsibly and securely throughout its lifecycle.
