Recreation Needs Assessment and Facility Master Plan

Westlock County recognizes the importance of quality recreation opportunities and services for residents of all ages and abilities. Recreation contributes to creating a vibrant, connected community where residents experience a high quality of life. To ensure that the County is efficiently and effectively planning for current and future community needs, we are in the process of completing a Recreation Needs Assessment and Facility Master Plan.

The Recreation Needs Assessment will help to answer the question if we invest in the right facilities and spaces to meet resident needs and support healthy active living in the County; and the Master Plan will provide us with a road map that will direct future investment in recreation opportunities and services over the next 10 years.

How can County residents get involved?

It is important that County residents inform this planning process. Your feedback will help to ensure that residents and organizations continue to benefit from the County’s investment in recreation.

There are going to be various opportunities for residents to contribute to the process and share their thoughts with the project team.

Check back to this page for future details on how you can have your voice heard.

Any questions regarding the project, please contact 780-307-0582.
