Jarvie
Jarvie is a small hamlet of about 100 residents, located 40 km north of Westlock off Highway 44 and is nestled on the banks of the Pembina River. In the surrounding area you will find many lakes for camping, fishing and water sports. During the fall and winter enjoy the numerous skidoo trails, hunting and ice fishing. There are a number of services available in the town including a community center that accomodates the senior drop-in group, Fire Hall, Cache Park with the Bat and Bird Conservancy, Jarvie Legion Play Park and skating rink. Jarvie residents take pride in their homes and you will enjoy the beautiful gardens and well kept yards Jarvie looks forward to your visit and seeing all the town and area has to offer.
Jarvie Community Council was formed in 1943, incorporated as a society on August 21, 1946, and oversees many of the activities in the hamlet. The Jarvie Community Center is home to a temporary post office, public library, rental venues and sports activities such as pickle ball, volleyball, floor curling to name a few. There is a static display of an old sawmill as well as local play park.
Located nearby is Cache Park Conservancy, where many birds and other wildlife can be viewed and enjoyed.
