Temporary Traffic Changes: RR 235 & RR 240

Please be advised that a weight restriction will be posted on the RR 235 bridge due to safety concerns. A temporary single-lane bridge is being arranged. Installation will require a closure of approximately 4–5 days, with dates to follow. The County will provide further notice once the installation dates are confirmed. Signage and traffic controls will be installed to manage traffic safely. Please obey posted traffic controls.

 

Loaded trucks will temporarily use RR 240 north to Highway 18, increasing truck traffic in the area. We realize that this will cause some concerns with area landowners. The County is reviewing speed limits, hours of use, maintenance, monitoring and signage to manage impacts.

 

With the bridge restrictions there is a need to move ahead more quickly with the RR240 expansion. Work is currently underway to connect RR240 to the RR235A road network and provide another route for traffic in the area. This work is being undertaken and fully funded by Peaskie Minerals.
