At the Regular Meeting of Council on August 12, 2025, Council declared a State of Agricultural Disaster due to seasonally low precipitation which has negatively impacted crops, pasture and forage stands.

Starting on July 31, 2025 construction will be commencing on 49A St in the Vimy trailer court.

The asphalt overlay project is expected to continue for a week, concluding on August 8, 2025, weather dependent.

 

The road will be closed at this time until construction is completed. We appreciate your cooperation and patience regarding this matter.

On July 8, 2025, Westlock County Council passed First Reading of Bylaw No. 71-2025, being a Bylaw to amend the Land Use Bylaw 04-2016 to add new land use regulations to the Bylaw that enable additional uses that may be undertaken without a development permit and grant the County’s development officers more discretion to grant variances and the authority to approve certain discretionary uses.
